I have always been drawn to art, no pun intended. My notebooks are filled with doodles of roses, vines, and anything flowery. The itch to begin painting came after discovering the works of John Holcomb, a mixed-media artist whose vibrant still life paintings are littered with vivid colors and dramatic florals. My style is the product of his influence along with a childhood spent under my mother’s keen eye for cottage-core interior design. This naturally translated to the way I decorate my cakes. Personally, I believe there is no better cake stand than a funky chair. Cakes can be a work of art, but if all goes well, they are gone by the end of the celebration. I started painting watercolors of custom cake’s so people had a little memory of that special day. Whether it is a still life or a special commission, it is a joy for me to create art that sticks around well after the party ends.

You can have your cake, and eat it too. I don’t care what they tell you!
